Billionaire Elon Musk’s net worth has increased by $30.7 billion in the past 24 hours, taking his fortune to approximately $894.9 billion as of August 18, 2026.

According to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires ranking, Musk’s wealth rose by 3.55 per cent, keeping him as the world’s richest person at the time of publication.

Musk is the CEO of Tesla and the founder or co-founder of companies including SpaceX, xAI, Neuralink and The Boring Company. His wealth is largely tied to his stakes in these companies, particularly SpaceX and Tesla.

Forbes data indicates that Musk owns approximately 38 per cent of SpaceX and nearly 11 per cent of Tesla, excluding certain unvested shares.

The latest increase follows significant volatility in Musk’s fortune since SpaceX went public in June.

On June 12, 2026, SpaceX priced its initial public offering at $135 per share, valuing the company at approximately $1.8 trillion. Forbes estimated that the IPO added about $188 billion to Musk’s fortune in a single day.

Musk subsequently became the world’s first trillionaire, with his wealth rising to about $1.4 trillion by June 16 as SpaceX’s valuation approached $3 trillion.

However, his fortune later declined sharply following a sell-off in SpaceX shares. By June 23, Musk had reportedly lost about $350 billion in one week, with his fortune falling to around $1.1 trillion.

Despite the fluctuations, SpaceX remains the biggest contributor to Musk’s wealth, while his other major holdings include Tesla, xAI, Neuralink and The Boring Company.
