BRIGHTON, ENGLAND — Brighton & Hove Albion have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday, with four key players returning to the squad for the match at the Amex Stadium.
According to reports from Football London, Luka Vuskovic, Jaouen Hadjam, Georginio Rutter, and Lewis Dunk are all available for selection, giving manager Fabian Hurzeler additional options as Brighton prepare to face the league leaders. The return of these players comes at a crucial time for the Seagulls, who have enjoyed a strong start to the season despite dealing with a series of injury problems.
Brighton have accumulated seven points from their opening four matches, winning two games against Coventry City and Manchester United, and scoring eight goals in the process. The team’s impressive form has been achieved despite the absence of several key players, making the return of the quartet a timely boost for Hurzeler.
However, Brighton remain without several other players. Femi Azeez, who joined from Millwall in the summer, is still sidelined with a hamstring injury. Kaoru Mitoma, Yankuba Minteh, and Zadok Yohanna remain unavailable, while forwards Stefanos Tzimas and Evan Ferguson are also out. Midfielder Jack Hinshelwood and defender Michael Svoboda are expected to miss the upcoming international break before making their returns, and Mats Wieffer remains a doubt as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.
Speaking ahead of the match, Hurzeler addressed the significance of facing Arsenal, who have won their first four Premier League matches and conceded just one goal. He stated that any differences with Arsenal from last season have already been resolved, despite the competitive nature of the fixture.
“The previous season ended. We have moved on,” Hurzeler said. He acknowledged the importance of opinions and promised to always speak his mind when questioned, while extending his congratulations to Arsenal on their Premier League victory. However, the German coach made it clear that Brighton will not waste any time this season attempting to defeat Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have received a defensive boost of their own. Arteta has confirmed that Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Cristhian Mosquera, and Piero Hincapie will be able to return to training before the trip to the south coast. While William Saliba remains sidelined with an injury, the return of the other four defenders gives Arteta more options at the back as Arsenal look to maintain their perfect start to the campaign.
The match holds extra significance given the recent history between the two clubs. Last season, Bukayo Saka scored for Arsenal when they visited the Amex, while Declan Rice’s red card in September 2024 contributed to a 1-1 draw between the sides. Arsenal will be hoping to avoid a similar setback as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title, while Brighton will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak and claim a statement victory over one of the league’s top sides.
With both teams welcoming back key players, the stage is set for an intriguing contest on the south coast. Arsenal will be looking to assert their dominance, while Brighton will be determined to prove that their strong start to the season is no fluke. For now, all eyes will be on the Amex Stadium as the two sides do battle on Saturday.
