UK-based Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has responded to people making allegations against him and members of his church on social media, challenging anyone with evidence of wrongdoing to report the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Adegboyega, founder of SPAC Nation, spoke out in a video after what he described as a series of online accusations and criticism directed at him and people associated with his church.
According to the pastor, he normally chooses not to respond to every allegation made online because he does not consider most of them serious enough to warrant his attention. However, he said he decided to address the issue after some of his friends became concerned about the claims circulating on social media.
Adegboyega told those making accusations against members of his church to take their complaints to the police or the courts rather than using social media as the primary avenue for making allegations.
“Go to the police or court, or shut up,” he said.
He questioned why people who claim that members of his church have committed offences would not report the alleged incidents to law-enforcement authorities or pursue legal action.
The pastor also criticised individuals whom he said were using his name to gain attention online by displaying documents and making accusations against him or his church.
Adegboyega said he would have no objection to anyone who had genuinely committed an offence being dealt with by the appropriate authorities, but maintained that allegations should be supported by evidence and handled through proper channels.
The latest comments come against the backdrop of previous controversies surrounding Adegboyega and SPAC Nation in the United Kingdom.
In 2022, a UK High Court ordered the winding up of Salvation Proclaimer Ministries Limited, the company associated with SPAC Nation, after proceedings concerning financial reporting and transparency. The organisation had faced allegations of financial misconduct, which Adegboyega and the church disputed.
In December 2024, Adegboyega also publicly rejected allegations surrounding his church and described his difficulties with UK authorities as politically motivated. He said allegations made against him and the church had not resulted in a criminal indictment and maintained that his records in the UK were clean.
The pastor has consistently denied wrongdoing in relation to the allegations surrounding his ministry. The latest remarks therefore represent another public response from him to criticism and accusations being circulated online.
Adegboyega’s decision to challenge his critics to approach the police or courts has since generated reactions on social media, with attention once again focused on the long-running controversies surrounding the pastor and his church.
For now, the specific allegations that prompted his latest video remain claims made by others, while Adegboyega has rejected wrongdoing and called for anyone with evidence to pursue the matter through formal legal or law-enforcement channels.
