A spokesman for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Segun Sowunmi, has urged Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

He argued that a second term would allow the administration to consolidate its economic reforms and accelerate development.

Sowunmi maintained that Nigeria stands at a defining threshold requiring continuity of policy to consolidate emerging economic reforms.

“My support for President Tinubu is rooted in my conviction that the Nigerian project is bigger than any individual, political party, or election,” Showunmi said. “It is about the future of our children, the dignity of our citizens, the strength of our institutions, the productivity of our economy, and our place among the leading nations of the world.”

Sowunmi, who was a former image maker of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, while reflecting on the government’s economic agenda since May 2023, highlighted critical structural policies aimed at repositioning the country away from an over-reliance on crude oil toward a diversified economy.

He cited important initiatives across critical sectors, including the implementation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides financial support for tertiary students and the Electricity Act 2023, granting states the framework to establish localized energy markets and boost local industrial output.

He also cited the strategic transport corridors, including the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, and the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano expressway.

According to him, these policy shifts lay the foundational grid necessary for Nigeria to operate as a major manufacturing, processing, and logistics hub across West and Central Africa.

Stressing that national stability remains the bedrock of economic progress, Showunmi noted that effective governance must ensure safety for farmers, artisans, and business owners to operate with confidence.

He called for continued institutional support for the armed forces and security agencies, alongside socio-economic interventions that expand opportunities for Nigeria’s youth.

“When I say prosperity is around the corner, I am expressing my confidence in the possibilities before Nigeria and in what sustained reforms, investment, and productive enterprise can unlock,” Showunmi added. “The task is to turn that potential into measurable improvements in incomes, jobs, services, and living standards so that prosperity reaches every table.”
