IPOB pledges to tackle insecurity, invites Ndigbo for Christmas

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has reaffirmed its dedication to ending insecurity in the South-East, inviting Ndigbo to return home for Christmas.
As gathered by the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, in a statement issued on Thursday, assured that operative of the Eastern Security Network would provide a peaceful atmosphere during the festive period.
The statement read: “The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) global family and movement, under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, reaffirms its dedication to restoring peace and security in the South-East region.
“We also extend an invitation to our people who wish to return home for Christmas, guaranteeing that ESN operatives will provide a safe and peaceful atmosphere during the holiday period.
“Igbo land is a peaceful place, and we want to keep it that way.”
“IPOB encourages everyone to do their part in maintaining peace, so we can thrive as a key economic hub in Africa.”
“We need every Igbo person to work towards peace and security in the South-East.”
“It’s time for us to come together and create a more stable environment, unlike other regions that may seem peaceful but aren’t entirely.”
“The government’s security strategy is flawed – they’re more interested in dominating the South-East than keeping us safe.”
“IPOB will fill the security gap and protect our people.
“IPOB is calling on Ndigbo to bring their businesses and investments back to Biafra to help develop the region, create employment opportunities for youths, and stimulate economic growth.
IPOB also cautioned criminal elements to desist from their nefarious activities in Biafra Land, especially during the festive period.
“The group’s volunteers and ESN operatives are committed to making the region an unattractive haven for criminals.”
Know about Ọhanaeze Ndigbo
Ọhanaeze Ndigbo is an Igbo socio-cultural organization in Nigeria that represents the interests of all Igbo communities.
Although not a political party, it fosters unity to effectively represent Igbo political interests.
History of Ọhaneze Ndigbo
The Lagos Igbo Union, the earliest form of Ọhaneze Ndigbo, began in the early 1930s.
Its creation stemmed from members wanting to celebrate Dr. Akanu Ibiam, the second Igbo physician to return from Britain.
The Union amplified the concerns of the Igbo in Lagos, gaining prominence and expanding to encompass the entire Eastern Region in 1943, rebranding as the Igbo Federal Union.
The organization fostered unity and increased Igbo awareness.
Chief Binyerem Onwukamuche Nwammo Eluwa, who later authored the 739-page book “Ado-na-Idu (History of Igbo Origin), served as its General Secretary from 1946 to 1948.
