Even as APC’s substitute, Barr Mrs Sharon Ikeazor, candidate for APC yesterday secured the support of major stakeholders in Njikoka Local Government Area, one of the seven that make up Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Ikeazor replaced Senator Chris Ngie who has withdrawn form the senatorial race and has been replaced with Barr Ikeazor a rounded lawyer who continued in the footsteps of her father, the late Chimezie Ikeazor in offering donated legal services to the poor.
The senir Ikeazor was the founder of the Legal Aid Corp, which principles were later adopted by the Federal Government in establishing the LegalAid Council.
Ikeazor who addressed stakeholders jointly and severally in five of the six –town local government, as part of her whistle-stop campaign got firm assurances across party lines even as women across the senatorial district t are spoiling for a fight over the need to replace a woman who is leaving the Senate with another woman.
Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife was removed from the Senate in December last year following the judgement of the apex court for senatorial election matter-Court of Appeal (Enugu Division) WHICH HELD that Ekwunife was ‘not the product of a valid primary election’ in her party PDP.
She decamped to APC hoping to the the fresh election on that platform bt was stopped by the party for reasons of legality associated with the judgment after being challenged by another woman Barr Ikeazor a lawyer with 30 years experience ein the bar who has worked virtually in every sector including the presidency. simple and cost effective hyperspectral remote sensing methodology
The emergence of Ikeazor is being ‘administratively’ challenged’ but women insisting that ‘there are two few women in the national Assembly for a woman to be chased out for a man to go in’ are prepared for a One-million march in support of Ikeazor against Umeh’s machinations supported by OBIANO.
Stakeholders who have supported Ikeazor in Njikoka cut across traditional rulers, businessmen, religious leaders and town union presidents who mostly committed yesterday and Monday to to public with their support when the open campaign begins next week..
