Imo: Be Good Ambassadors of UAES VC Eze charges matriculants

The Vice Chancellor of University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Professor Christopher Eze has charged the newly matriculated students to be good ambassadors of the institution and their various families.
The University matriculated about five hundred and forty 540 students during its 4th matriculation ceremony on the 8th of February 2025 at the university pavilion Umuagwo, OhajiEgbema LGA of Imo state.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor Professor Eze charged the matriculants to be good ambassadors of the institutions and their families and eschew indiscipline and lawlessness or any act that would make them not to achieve the purpose for which they were admitted to the institution.
” My dear students , it is the desire of everyone that in the next four years , you will be among the best graduates in your field of study from the university.
To make it possible UAES has engaged the services of qualified academics and support staff to teach and handle your academic issues.
We have objectively planned the curricula in such a way that at the time of your graduation you will have acquired entrepreneurship skills in Agriculture and Environmental studies, in addition to your major courses.
The idea was included in your curricula so that when you graduate from here , you will have enough to give back to the society, both in your chosen career and other areas of endeavour.
To realize this objective, you must eschew indiscipline and lawlessness and rather embrace the virtue of self control.
You must dress decently to receive the respect you deserve as a university student.
You must not make yourself vulnerable to the negative dictates of the world.
Use the internet wisely and consciously. Your personality and character are key to attracting favours from God and men.
I charge you today to be good ambassadors of our university and families “,  Prof Eze stated.
The Vice Chancellor said Imo state Governor Hope Uzodinma has in his magnanity decided to cut the fees of Agricultural students by 50% so that more people will be encouraged to study agriculture.
Eze calls on more people to enroll into the institution to study agriculture so that there will be enough food in future, as the governor has ensured that quality agricultural graduates will be produced  from UAES.
The Pro-Chancellor of UAES, Prof Nelson Uzoechi -Uzoma Alino said with the governor’s vision to transform UAES, they would help him to achieve it.
Prof Nelson said they would bring people from different parts of  the world to form a Public Private Partnership PPP that would help to build the institution.
He said there is large expanse of land land that is not yet in use adding that they would put it into use through a mechanized system of Agriculture and the students will benefit.
The Pro-Chancellor promised to fix all the equipments and facilities in the school through the resources from government of Imo state.
He advised the students to work hard so that they can come out in flying colours.
 “If I can do it, you also can do it, not because of your background but your ambition will help you to plan for tomorrow”, he noted.
The Commissioner for Tertiary and Technical Education, Professor Victor Nwachukwu said Education is a system that must refine the conscience of man as be in tandem with the actualization of his goals.
Prof Nwachukwu urged everyone to go back home and educate our children on the importance of going back to our roots which is agriculture.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Dr Basilia Igbokwe advised the matriculants to study, practice and form a reading habit knowing that the certificate they are acquiring is in character and learning.
She said to be literate one must be versatile in all areas and must make out time to study his or her course very well as to come out in flying colours.
“You can make out time to study your course well, so that you can come out in flying colours”, the Rector advised matriculants.
