Local Government Councillors in Kaduna State on Thursday, endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for re-election come 2027.

This endorsement came at the one-day meeting of the Local government Councillors in Kaduna State.

As the 2027 elections in the country begin to gather momentum, 255 local government councillors in Kaduna State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for re-election in their respective positions for a second term.

The councillors stated that there is currently no vacancy in the Presidential Villa in Abuja and that anyone considering a run for the presidency should take note.

Similarly, they advised those interested in the gubernatorial candidacy in Kaduna to forget that ambition.

This, according to them, is because there is no vacancy at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.

Speaking on behalf of the 255 councillors after the meeting, spokesman Muhammad Sani Badikko noted that their support for President Tinubu is because of the significant achievements of the APC-led government over the past year.

According to him, the President has made commendable progress in revitalizing the country’s ailing refineries and advancing the ongoing economic recovery under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Badikko highlighted the unprecedented infrastructural developments in rural areas, as the achievements of Governor Uba Sani.

He emphasized that these improvements are unmatched in the history of the State.

Badikko also praised the governor and scored him high on rural development, economic recovery, education, and healthcare intervention programs for growth and innovation.

The councillors pledged to mobilize support from the grassroot, for the governor’s re-election in 2027, urging all political actors to sheath their swords and wait until after 2031.

The endorsement is also accompanied by some drama, as Kaduna’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, has been quoted as saying that God, and not former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, will decide the outcome of the 2027 elections.
