At least 345 Palestinians have been killed as Israel launched a large-scale assault on Gaza, ending the fragile ceasefire.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the strikes targeted multiple locations, including Khan Younis, Rafah, Gaza City, and Deir el-Balah, leaving dozens injured and displaced.

Many of the casualties were children, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, as heavy bombardment struck residential areas and makeshift shelters.

Hamas condemned the assault, accusing Israel of deliberately violating the ceasefire agreement that had been in place since January 19.

The group claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government had intentionally dismantled the truce, endangering prisoners held inside Gaza.

Hamas called on Arab and Islamic nations, as well as international supporters, to take to the streets in protest.

Prime Minister Netanyahu defended the offensive, stating that Hamas refused to release captives and rejected offers to extend the ceasefire.

He vowed that Israel would intensify its military operations, launching more strikes against what he described as “terror targets.”

The Israeli military confirmed the attacks, stating on Telegram that its forces were conducting “extensive strikes” on Hamas positions.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Israel had consulted U.S. President Donald Trump before carrying out the military operation.

Hospitals in Gaza, including Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, struggled to handle the large number of wounded civilians.

Many of the injured were women and children, as the strikes hit schools, residential buildings, and areas where people had sought shelter.

Ahmed Abu Rizq, a teacher in Gaza, described the terror of waking up to the sound of intense Israeli airstrikes.

“Our children were frightened, and ambulances rushed from street to street,” he said, recalling the chaos of the morning attacks.

Families arrived at hospitals carrying the remains of their children, desperately searching for survivors amid the devastation.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reported from Deir el-Balah, stating that the strikes targeted heavily populated areas.

The bombardment killed newborn babies, children, women, and elderly residents, along with several senior Hamas officials.

Israeli drones and fighter jets could be heard across the skies, intensifying the fear and panic among civilians.

The Government Media Office in Gaza condemned the attack, calling it proof that Israel only understands “killing, destruction, and genocide.”

Ceasefire negotiations have now stalled, raising concerns that the conflict will escalate further, worsening the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
