Renewed Israel attacks on Gaza

At least 436 Palestinians, including 183 children, have been killed since Israel resumed the bombardment of Gaza.

This data was revealed by Gaza’s Health Ministry as victims were rushed to the hospital.

The renewed bombardment began in the early hours of Tuesday, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Taher al-Nono, a Hamas official, says the group has not shut the door on negotiations despite the renewed Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

But he insists there is no need for new agreements when a signed one exists.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the new bombardment is “only the beginning.”

He also said that all negotiations for the shattered Gaza ceasefire, which lasted just under two months, will now take place “under fire”.

Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 49,547 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 112,719 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza.

Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.

At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attacks and more than 200 were taken captive.

The Health Ministry gave a breakdown of the at least 436 people killed in Israeli attacks who have been brought to hospitals.

They include:

183 children

125 men

94 women

34 elderly people.

The UN has now confirmed that one international employee has been killed and five others have been wounded in an explosion in Gaza.

Jorge Moreira da Silva, head of the UN Office for Project Services, said the cause of the blast remains unclear.

However he said that an explosive ordnance was “dropped or fired”.

Hamas has issued a new statement about what it said was the Israeli targeting of a headquarters used by foreign workers at UN institutions.

The targeting it has said, resulted in the death of an employee and the wounding of five others.

In a statement, the group said,

“This crime not only constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law,

“but also comes in the context of the occupation’s systematic policy of targeting civilians and humanitarian and relief workers,

“with the aim of terrorising them and discouraging them from performing their humanitarian duty towards our people,

“and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe that the Gaza Strip is experiencing.”

It added that since the start of the war, Israel has killed hundreds of UNRWA staff and workers in international humanitarian and relief institutions.

This they say is part of its criminal war, through which Israel seeks to tighten the blockade and strangle the Gaza Strip.

They also allege that Israel plans to deprive their people of the most basic necessities of life, in blatant defiance of international laws and norms.
