BREAKING: INEC Declares Okowa Winner Of Delta Guber Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has declared Ifeanyi Okowa winner of the Delta State governorship elections held on Saturday.

The state Returning Officer, Prof Seth Accra-Jaja made the announcement on Monday in Asaba.

Prof Accra-Jaja announced that Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] polled 925,271 votes to defeat his closest rival Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Congress [APC] who scored 215,938 votes.

STATS

Registered voters – 2,831,205

Accredited voters  – 1,188,784

Voided votes  – 24,147 votes

Valid votes  – 1,154,188 votes

Number of votes cast  – 1,178,335 votes.

PDP won the election in 23 local government areas spread across the three senatorial districts while the APC won two local government areas.
