Tel Aviv – Yair Golan, chairman of Israel’s Democrats Party, has issued a strong condemnation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership, accusing him of endangering the country’s security.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) revealed that Golan’s statement follows Netanyahu’s recent declaration that he would not surrender to Hamas or agree to a premature ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza war.

The opposition leader took to social media to deliver his harshest criticism yet, describing Netanyahu as a growing threat to Israel’s stability.

In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Golan warned, “The longer he remains, the greater the danger.”

He accused Netanyahu of prioritizing his political survival over the lives of hostages still held in Gaza.

Golan stated, “This evening, he officially announced to the families of the kidnapped and to the entire public: I have decided to continue to abandon and sacrifice the kidnapped.”

He continued, “My continued hold on the throne is more important to me than the lives of your loved ones.”

Golan pledged action, writing, “We will take him down, rescue the hostages, and arm the security.”

His comments reflect increasing political pressure on Netanyahu, whose handling of the war and the hostage crisis has come under intense scrutiny.

Netanyahu insists that military operations are essential to securing the release of captives, but critics argue his strategy has failed.

Many families of the hostages believe that a diplomatic solution is urgently needed, accusing the government of neglecting negotiations.

The hostage crisis began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on southern Israel.

Over 1,200 people were killed during the assault, making it one of the deadliest days in Israeli history.

During the attack, approximately 250 people were abducted and taken into Gaza.

The hostages included Israeli civilians, dual nationals, children, elderly people, and foreign workers.

Some hostages were released through limited prisoner exchange deals, often mediated by third-party countries like Qatar and Egypt

However, over 100 individuals are still believed to be held by Hamas in undisclosed locations within Gaza.

Many of the remaining captives are thought to be in urgent need of medical care, including children and elderly individuals.

Families of the hostages have staged regular protests, urging the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire in exchange for their loved ones’ safe return.

They have also accused Netanyahu of ignoring humanitarian pleas and focusing instead on prolonging the war for political reasons.

International pressure has also increased, with several countries calling for a humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate release of all hostages.

Golan’s remarks amplify the frustration felt by many Israelis who view Netanyahu’s leadership as ineffective and disconnected.

The opposition, led by figures like Golan, is using the crisis as a rallying point to demand political change.

Calls for Netanyahu’s resignation have grown louder, both from within the Knesset and the Israeli public.

Golan’s Democrats Party is pushing for a new leadership strategy that focuses on diplomacy, humanitarian responsibility, and domestic security.

Netanyahu, however, continues to defend his policies, arguing that ending the war now would strengthen Hamas and weaken Israel’s deterrence.

Despite his claims, the rising death toll and prolonged conflict have left the nation deeply divided.

Many citizens believe a change in leadership is the only path to ending the war and securing the safe return of hostages.

Golan’s vow to “rescue the hostages” has resonated with those who feel abandoned by the current administration.

The political landscape in Israel is growing increasingly volatile, as public anger threatens to reshape the nation’s future.

The country now stands at a crossroads, facing tough decisions about leadership, war strategy, and national priorities.

With every passing day, the stakes grow higher, and the pressure on Netanyahu intensifies.

Whether Golan’s promise of change gains traction remains to be seen, but his message has clearly struck a chord with a weary and divided population.
