The African Democratic Congress ADC has lambasted Governor Hope Uzodinma over his comment advising Local Government Chairmen and Councillors to relocate to their various villages or resign their positions.

ADC noted that it is wrong for Governor Hope Uzodinma to issue such directives since he as a governor of Imo state resides in Abuja and visits with a private jet to attend to a function and after goes back to Abuja.

The party insists that Governor Uzodinma should relocate to Owerri or his village and stop wasting taxpayers money.

It also said that the governor has no right to issue such directives since he’s practicing same.

ADC states that he should live by example and not pretend to be better than the 27 LGA chairmen and 305 Councillors.

The party further advised the governor to wholistically address the challenge of insecurity bedeviling the state and destroying lives and properties.

This was contained in a Press release of 11th May 2025 by Chilos A. C. Godsent – National Vice Chairman South East (ADC).

He states: “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has Condemned in strong terms the recent martial directives by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma to the Twenty Seven (27) Local Government Council Chairmen and the three hundred and five (305) Councilors in Imo State to immediately relocate and reside at their respective villages or Resign their Position as Elected Political Office Holders.

“The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma handed down this tyrannical martial directives during the 10th Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Imo State Traditional Rulers at the Headquarters of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers Owerri on Saturday 10th May, 2025.
