Tottenham Hotspurs reportedly sack Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly decided to sack manager Ange Postecoglou, despite his recent success in leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years by winning the UEFA Europa League.

The club’s domestic performance, however, was disappointing, finishing 17th in the Premier League—their worst top-flight result since the 1976–77 season.

Reports suggest that the decision to part ways with Postecoglou has been made, with the club delaying the announcement to allow emotions from the Europa League victory to subside.

Chairman Daniel Levy is expected to make a final decision this week.

Potential replacements being considered include Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi.

Frank is reportedly a strong candidate, partly due to his relationship with Spurs’ technical director Johan Lange.

Despite the Europa League triumph, the club’s poor league performance has led to this critical juncture.

Postecoglou has expressed confusion over the speculation about his future, emphasizing the significance of the European success.

As of now, Spurs board have not officially announced Postecoglou’s dismissal, but multiple sources indicate that an announcement is imminent.
