Two feared dead in Las Vegas shooting attack

A gunman opened fire near the Bellagio Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night of June 8, 2025, killing two people in a targeted attack.
According to reports, panic gripped the area as bullets rang out around 10:40pm local time, forcing tourists and bystanders to flee or hit the ground.
Under-sheriff Andrew Walsh confirmed that officers responded swiftly after receiving reports of gunfire on the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.
Police arrived to find two people lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders tried to save them, but both died at the scene.
Authorities have identified a suspect and believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute that played out on social media.
“At this point, we believe we have the suspect identified,” Walsh told reporters. “The suspect and victim had previously clashed on various online platforms.”
A shocking video circulating on social media shows the moment the gunman opened fire in front of the iconic fountains.
Seven shots are heard as terrified onlookers scream and scatter. Some dropped to the ground to avoid being hit.
A voice is heard yelling, “Are you f****** kidding me?” just before a child begins to cry in the background.
The footage, too graphic to publish, has sparked outrage and fear among both locals and tourists.
Images of the scene reveal a major police operation with flashing lights, cordoned-off streets, and patrol cars swarming the area.
Aerial videos from nearby buildings show dozens of emergency vehicles responding immediately to the scene.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed the shooting happened outdoors and not inside any of the nearby casinos.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), LVMPD warned, “We are responding to a shooting in the 3600 block of S. Las Vegas Boulevard. Please avoid the area.”
A large police presence remains as detectives work through the night to secure the area and question witnesses.
Roads along the Strip have been blocked as officers investigate and gather surveillance footage.
The motive appears to be personal and isolated, according to Walsh, who emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Police are urging anyone with information or video of the incident to come forward.
This is a developing story.
