Elon musk endorses Trump impeachment amid explosive fallout

In a stunning turn of events, tech billionaire Elon Musk has publicly endorsed a call to impeach U.S. President Donald Trump, escalating a fierce fallout between the two former allies.
Diaspora Digital Media DDM reports that the feud erupted after Musk resigned from Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a cost-cutting body established during Trump’s second term.
Their once-close alliance shattered following disagreements over Trump’s controversial spending legislation — the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill.”
The proposed bill seeks to extend tax cuts, impose stricter eligibility rules for federal welfare programs, and raise the U.S. debt ceiling.
Musk condemned the bill, warning that it would sink the country deeper into debt and called on Americans to pressure lawmakers in Congress to reject it.
Speaking after his Oval Office resignation, Musk stated, “This bill will bankrupt the nation while benefitting the few. It’s reckless, dishonest, and disastrous for the future.”
Trump swiftly hit back, calling Musk’s criticisms hypocritical and opportunistic.
“Elon knew every detail of this bill while serving in DOGE,” Trump declared on Truth Social.
“Now he suddenly has a problem with it? He just went CRAZY!”
The President didn’t stop there. He threatened to terminate federal subsidies and contracts awarded to Musk’s companies — Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink — a move that could cost billions of dollars in government support.
“The easiest way to save billions in our Budget is to cancel Elon’s contracts,” Trump posted. “Frankly, I was surprised Biden didn’t do it.”
Musk responded defiantly. Just hours after Trump’s remarks, he announced that SpaceX would begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft, which supports NASA’s missions to the International Space Station.
Industry experts say the decision could severely disrupt space logistics and raise questions about the future of U.S.-based space exploration.
In another blow to Trump, Musk endorsed an X post by right-wing commentator Ian Miles Cheong that called for the president’s impeachment and suggested his Vice President, JD Vance, should take over.
Quoting Cheong’s post, Musk replied with a simple but explosive, “Yes.”
This one-word endorsement has sent shockwaves across political and financial sectors, igniting debates about Trump’s leadership and Musk’s growing political influence.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO had previously claimed that Trump owed his return to the presidency to Musk’s support during the campaign.
“He wouldn’t be back in the White House without me,” Musk boasted in an earlier interview.
Now, that alliance has dramatically unraveled.
Sources close to the White House reveal that senior aides are scrambling to contain the fallout as Trump’s budget bill faces mounting resistance not just from Democrats, but now also from conservative powerbrokers and libertarian-leaning Republicans influenced by Musk.
With Musk’s endorsement of impeachment gaining traction online, political observers say this could trigger serious implications for Trump’s administration.
While the likelihood of impeachment remains uncertain, Musk’s influence — particularly among voters under 45 and the tech community — poses a real threat to the administration’s political capital.
As the rift deepens, one thing is clear: the once powerful bond between the world’s richest man and the world’s most polarizing leader has fractured — and the fallout may be just beginning.
