‘Make a deal before there is nothing left’ Trump tells Iran

Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply on Friday, June 13, 2025, after Israel launched airstrikes across Iran, targeting nuclear sites and missile factories.

Report says Israeli military officials confirmed over 200 fighter jets participated in the massive bombardment, hitting more than 100 high-value targets within Iranian territory.

The Israeli Defence Forces claimed the operation aimed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities and eliminate key military commanders.

Tehran immediately vowed a powerful retaliation.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian called the Israeli attack a “foolish act” that would face a regretful response.

Israel’s military said the overnight strikes destroyed missile launchers, radars, and critical infrastructure at Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment plant.

Iran reported the deaths of top military leaders, including Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, and Revolutionary Guards Commander Hossein Salami.

Two regional intelligence sources confirmed at least 20 senior Iranian commanders were killed in the coordinated assault.

Israel’s Mossad reportedly conducted covert sabotage missions ahead of the aerial strike, with operations deep inside Iranian territory.

In retaliation, Iran allegedly launched around 100 drones toward Israel, but Israeli forces said all were intercepted successfully.

By 0800 GMT, Israeli citizens were cleared to move freely, signaling no significant drone impact occurred.

Trump, speaking to ABC News, said Iran had ignored a 60-day ultimatum to accept a U.S.-brokered nuclear deal.

“They got hit about as hard as you’re going to get hit,” Trump said. “And there’s more to come. A lot more.”

On Truth Social, Trump added, “Today is day 61. They should have made a deal. Now they have a second chance—maybe!”

Iran’s Nournews agency said 78 civilians were killed and 329 injured in Israeli strikes on residential areas in Tehran.

Oil prices jumped 8% on fears of wider conflict in the oil-rich region, although Iran said its refineries remained intact.

OPEC said no oil supply adjustments were planned for now, insisting the market remained stable despite military escalations.

Diaspora Digital Media reported reports that Israel shut its embassies globally and advised citizens to avoid wearing Jewish symbols in public.

The country also moved military forces to full alert, deploying troops across all borders, according to Army Chief Eyal Zamir.

Airlines suspended flights over Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan, while Dubai’s Emirates cancelled all regional operations temporarily.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused Israel of shedding innocent blood and warned of a “bitter fate” for Tel Aviv.

Oman, mediating nuclear talks between Iran and the U.S., condemned the strikes as reckless and dangerous.

Talks scheduled in Oman for Sunday, June 15, between U.S. and Iranian officials now hang in the balance.

Washington denied involvement in the Israeli operation. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Israel acted alone in self-defense.

Diaspora Digital Media, also reported that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) declared Iran in violation of nuclear obligations for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Despite political repression, some Iranians expressed hope that the attack could weaken the regime’s grip.

Others insisted on retaliation, warning that failure to respond would leave Iran vulnerable to more aggression.

Trump convened his National Security Council Friday morning as the world braced for further fallout from the latest Middle East crisis.
