In a bold move against cybercrime, Justice R.M. Aikawa of the Federal High Court, Kaduna, has sentenced two fraudsters to prison.

Isaac Otaigbe Omonodion and Obinna Daniel faced justice after the EFCC exposed their illegal online schemes.

The anti-graft agency confirmed the verdict on June 19, 2025, signaling a major win in Nigeria’s war on fraud.

Both men admitted guilt regarding charges of impersonation and cybercrime. As a result, the court acted promptly to convict them.

Consequently, this swift action ensured that justice was served effectively.

The proceedings reflected the legal system’s commitment to upholding the law and protecting citizens.

Omonodion, who impersonated “Major Hashim,” deceived numerous victims on Facebook, resulting in significant harm and distress.

Meanwhile, Daniel exploited TikTok users under the alias “Obinna Y.,” using social media for his malicious schemes.

Their actions clearly violated the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act of 2015, prompting the court to impose severe penalties.

Ultimately, Justice Aikawa sentenced the two men to prison while imposing hefty fines to uphold justice effectively.

Omonodion received a three-year prison sentence or, alternatively, a ₦300,000 fine. Consequently, he lost his Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

Conversely, Daniel faced a five-year prison sentence or a ₦400,000 fine. In addition, he surrendered an iPhone 16 Plus and $500.

Their arrests in Niger and Nasarawa states followed meticulous EFCC investigations.

Prosecution counsel M.U. Gadaka pushed for maximum punishment, and the judge complied, delivering a stern message to would-be offenders.

The EFCC reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance, vowing to crush cybercriminals nationwide.

By leveraging intelligence and partnerships, the agency aims to cleanse Nigeria’s digital space.

These convictions underscore the risks of online fraud, warning scammers that justice is inevitable.

Citizens are urged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.

With cybercrime on the rise, the EFCC’s crackdown offers hope for a safer internet.

The commission’s relentless pursuit of justice reassures Nigerians that no fraudster will escape consequences.

This landmark ruling proves that law enforcement will not relent.

As technology evolves, criminals constantly adapt their tactics.

Consequently, the EFCC proactively stays ahead in this ongoing battle.

Moreover, the agency consistently updates its strategies to effectively counter emerging threats.

Thus, it remains resilient against criminal activities.

By staying informed and proactive, the EFCC ensures justice prevails.

Let this serve as a wake-up call: cybercrime doesn’t pay, and the long arm of the law will always prevail.

Stay informed, stay alert, and join the fight for a fraud-free Nigeria.
