Antony rejects Como, prioritises Betis in summer move
DDM News

Brazilian winger Antony has rejected a transfer offer from Serie A club Como as he prioritises a permanent move to Real Betis this summer.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the Manchester United player, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis, has made it clear where his heart lies.
The 25-year-old contributed nine goals and five assists under Manuel Pellegrini, helping the Spanish side reach the UEFA Conference League final against Chelsea.
Several clubs have shown interest in the winger, including Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen, managed by former United boss Erik ten Hag.
However, football insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Antony has turned down Como’s offer, giving top priority to Betis, where he regained form and confidence.
“Manchester United are also aware of Antony’s preference to continue at Betis next season,” Romano added. “No agreement has been reached between clubs yet.”
This preference comes as no surprise after the emotional farewell Antony shared with Betis fans, following the club’s heavy 4–1 loss to Chelsea in the final.
In an open Instagram letter, Antony called his time at Betis “one of the most beautiful chapters” of his life.
He recounted his journey from childhood poverty in Brazil to professional success in Europe, crediting Betis for restoring his joy in football after a difficult period at Manchester United.
“With you, I smiled again… with you, football became love again,” he wrote to Betis fans.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Antony is reportedly willing to accept a 30 percent wage cut to make the move permanent.
He currently earns £150,000 a week at Old Trafford.
Manchester United, on the other hand, must raise at least £32.58 million from his sale to avoid financial losses under the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.
