Just in: PCRC youth committee visit triggers tension over conference agenda

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Youth Committee in Enugu State has paid a courtesy visit to the South East National Vice Chairman, Dr. Godstime Okafor.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the visit was aimed at updating Dr. Okafor on the planning and preparations for the forthcoming PCRC Youth Conference scheduled to hold on June 26, 2025.
Dr. Okafor, a respected lawyer and community leader, received the delegation at his office in the South East region.
The delegation was led by the Enugu State Youth Committee Coordinator, Martin Chiedozie Ugwu.
Other members of the team included the Secretary, Comrade Ugochukwu Mbah, Assistant Public Relations Officer Solomon Nwobodo, and Deputy Secretary Frank.
During the visit, the team presented a detailed progress report on logistics, mobilization, and program outline for the conference.
They also highlighted the importance of the conference in promoting youth participation in community policing and national development.
Dr. Okafor, while responding, expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the team for their dedication and initiative.
He assured the committee of his full support and commitment to the success of the youth-focused event.
The Vice Chairman emphasized that youth involvement in security dialogue and police relations is vital to sustainable peace and order in Nigeria.
He also called for continuous collaboration and unity of purpose within the PCRC structure across the South East and beyond.
Dr. Okafor urged the committee to uphold professionalism, transparency, and inclusiveness in the planning and execution of the upcoming conference.
The visit, according to the team, was part of a broader outreach strategy to engage key stakeholders ahead of the June event.
The PCRC Youth Committee reaffirmed its dedication to building strong partnerships that will advance the objectives of community policing in the region.
The 2025 Youth Conference is expected to attract delegates, security experts, and community leaders from across the South East geopolitical zone.
It will serve as a platform for dialogue, capacity building, and policy input from young voices in grassroots security and civic engagement.
