Anambra State is set to beat to a thrilling new rhythm this Saturday June 28 as Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo will formally opens the gates to the magnificent, sprawling Solution Fun City, Awka.

Tagged the ANAMBRA MEGAFEST, the grand opening is posed to be an electrifying blend of music, dance, comedy and general entertainment, featuring performances by a stellar lineup of star musicians and comedians, all celebrating a monumental achievement for the state.

By Saturday afternoon, residents and visitors alike will converge on the sprawling 12.7-hectare leisure and tourism complex, a project that has been meticulously brought to life under the progressive leadership of Governor Soludo.

This is not just an entertainment leisure park of international standard; it is another proof of the Solution administration’s commitment to transforming Anambra from a departure lounge to a destination.

The Solution Fun City is a brainchild of Governor Soludo’s ingenuity, designed to be a game-changer for the state’s socio-economic landscape. For too long, Anambra, despite its status as a commercial powerhouse, has lacked a world-class recreational hub.

Residents, especially families and youths, often had to travel outside the state to access premium leisure facilities. Governor Soludo saw this gap not as a problem, but as an opportunity. As he would always say: “Any city without a recreational centre is a dead city!”

Today, the result is a fully vision-driven, private sector-inspired initiative that shines as a lumina of progress. The facility is a “world-class entertainment and relaxation centre.” It boasts a cinema, a waterpark with six different swimming pools, family and children’s play zones, and an arcade, Country club, offering a diverse range of activities for all ages.

But the project is not all about fun alone. The impact of the Solution Fun City extends far beyond weekend or holiday entertainment. This is a project poised to inject new life into Anambra’s economy. The state government highlighted the facility’s commitment to job creation, with many staff members already recruited and trained. This is just the beginning. The influx of tourists and visitors alike will boost local businesses, from hotels and restaurants to transportation services, creating a ripple effect of economic prosperity.

Truly, Governor Soludo’s audacity in conceptualising and delivering on such a monumental project demonstrates his commitment to a holistic transformation of Anambra. The Solution Fun City is a symbol of a state that is not just building roads, education and hospitals, but also creating a vibrant, livable, and entertaining environment for its people.

Also, the Solution Fun City serves as a critical component of Governor Soludo’s broader tourism and creative economy agenda. The administration is actively working to develop heritage sites like the Ogbunike Caves and Agulu Lake, and the Fun City provides a modern, attractive anchor for a flourishing tourism sector. This strategic investment in infrastructure is designed to promote local talent, keeping creative minds and economic opportunities within the state. As it is, Ndi Anambra will no longer need to travel outside Anambra to have good fun.

The grand opening on Saturday is set to be an enthralling spectacle. Headlining the event is Nigerian music sensation Flavour, alongside the renowned highlife duo Umu Obiligbo, traditional music icon Ojadili, and Afro-pop artiste Onye Obodo and others. It will be a fusion of contemporary and traditional performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state.
