JUST IN: Trump Announces Israel’s Approval of 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire Plan

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Hamas to accept a final 60-day ceasefire deal with Israel in Gaza.

The proposal aims to halt the ongoing war and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas militants.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Trump revealed U.S. officials held “productive” talks with Israeli leaders about the deal.

He said the ceasefire proposal would be delivered to Hamas by mediators from Qatar and Egypt.

Trump did not name the officials, but reports identified Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio, and J.D. Vance as key participants.

They were expected to meet Ron Dermer, senior adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for final discussions.

“Israel has agreed to the conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire,” Trump stated in his post on Tuesday.

“During this time, we will work with all parties to end the war,” he added.

“I hope Hamas accepts this deal. It will not get better — it will only get worse,” Trump warned.

Speaking to reporters in Florida, Trump said he expects progress on the ceasefire “sometime next week.”

He is set to meet Netanyahu at the White House on Monday for further talks on the truce.

Ceasefire Deal Terms

The U.S.-backed proposal includes a 60-day ceasefire and the release of half the Israeli hostages.

It also includes an exchange of Palestinian prisoners and the return of deceased Palestinians’ remains.

Standoff Over Disarmament

Hamas has shown readiness to negotiate but refuses to disarm, which Israel says is non-negotiable.

The war began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.

Mounting Humanitarian Crisis

Gaza’s health ministry says over 56,000 Palestinians have died since Israel launched its military operation.

The war has displaced nearly all Gaza residents and caused widespread hunger and infrastructure collapse.

Cases accusing Israel of genocide and war crimes are under review at the ICC and ICJ.

Israel denies all accusations and says its operations target Hamas fighters.

The Trump administration is using recent strikes on Iran and regional calm to push for a lasting ceasefire.
