‘We’ll Strike Yemen’ – Israel Vows Brutal Retaliation After Missile Attack

Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a fiery warning of retaliation against Iran-backed Houthi militants, following the interception of a ballistic missile launched from Yemen toward Israeli territory.
The threat, delivered in a strongly worded statement on Tuesday night, comes amid escalating regional tensions and continued cross-border attacks.
“The fate of Yemen is the same as that of Tehran,” Katz declared, referencing Israel’s recent 12-day air war targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities.
“After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will also strike the Houthis in Yemen,” he said.
“Whoever raises a hand against Israel — that hand will be cut off.”
The missile was intercepted over southern Israel, near Sderot, without causing casualties.
However, local health authorities in Gaza reported that 112 people were killed and over 400 injured by Israeli strikes in the last 24 hours alone.
Houthis Claim Responsibility
The Yemen-based Houthi movement, backed by Iran and in control of much of Yemen, claimed responsibility for the missile attack.
In a televised statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group had conducted four operations targeting Israeli airports and “sensitive” sites.
The Houthis say their continued assaults are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel’s military campaign has killed tens of thousands since October 2023.
Israel Warns of Naval and Air Blockade
In response, Israel has threatened to impose a naval and air blockade on Yemen if attacks persist.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war, Houthi forces have disrupted Red Sea shipping lanes by firing missiles and drones at both Israeli targets and international vessels.
Though most Houthi projectiles have been intercepted or missed their targets, Israel has carried out multiple retaliatory airstrikes inside Yemen.
U.S. Reacts: ‘Maybe B-2 Bombers Should Visit Yemen’
Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President Donald Trump, weighed in on the situation on X (formerly Twitter).
“We thought we were done with missiles coming to Israel,” he posted.
“Maybe those B-2 bombers need to visit Yemen!”
The B-2s referenced were part of U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites during the recent 12-day military campaign, which both Washington and Tel Aviv claimed successfully degraded Tehran’s weapons infrastructure.
