JUST IN: Atiku, David Mark, Others Adopt ADC to Unseat Tinubu in 2027

A coalition of political heavyweights including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President David Mark have launched a bold campaign to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027, rallying under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their new political vehicle.
The move follows months of behind-the-scenes consultations among disillusioned members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who say Nigeria’s democracy, economy, and unity are under siege.
“Tinubu Government Is a Disaster” — Coalition Fires Warning Shot
After a closed-door meeting at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on Tuesday, the group issued a damning communiqué, branding the APC-led Federal Government as a “national disaster” that must be removed from power.
“The APC came into power on the back of false promises and propaganda. Today, they’ve become a disaster to Nigeria,”
the coalition declared in the statement.
ADC Emerges as 2027 Political Vehicle
The group, which includes ex-governors Sule Lamido, Liyel Imoke, Aminu Tambuwal, and Sam Egwu, said the ADC will serve as the foundation for a broad-based opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general election.
The new alliance vows to focus on national unity, economic recovery, anti-corruption, and democratic renewal.
They also accused the Tinubu administration of weaponizing state institutions to intimidate opposition leaders, weaken the PDP, and promote political defection through patronage and pressure.
