Clean Your Own Mess — Fani-Kayode Blasts US for Meddling in Nigerian Politics

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has fiercely responded to the United States over its recent criticism of Nigerian governors spending.

The former minister did not hold back as he accused America of hypocrisy and global interference.

Fani-Kayode’s reaction followed a post by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria.

Under its #TransparencyTuesday campaign, the Mission condemned the lavish spending by some Nigerian governors.

According to the post, governors were building new airports, flyovers, and government houses while urging Nigerians to endure hardship like labor pains.

However, Fani-Kayode slammed the U.S. for being two-faced.

He argued that America had no moral ground to advise any nation on transparency.

Fani-Kayode insisted the U.S. must fix its own deep-rooted problems first.

“While Gaza’s children are being slaughtered and starved,” he wrote on X, “the American government keeps sending weapons to Israel to assist genocide.”

He added that the U.S. uses the ongoing war in Ukraine as a cover to launder billions.

“They enrich corrupt leaders and fund endless wars,” he alleged.

Fani-Kayode also pointed fingers at USAID. He claimed the agency funneled billions into nations worldwide to destabilize them.

“Until Trump came,” he stated, “USAID was a tool to spread corruption and destruction globally.”

Throughout his post, Fani-Kayode maintained that the U.S. should stop meddling in other countries’ affairs.

Instead of lecturing Nigeria, he said America should focus on fixing its internal rot.

“Clean your own mess,” he said, “and drain your American swamp before offering any lessons in governance.”

With this strong rebuke, Fani-Kayode reignited conversations about Western interference and double standards.
