lai mohammedThe Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State Chapter has warned the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC , Alhaji Lai Mohammed

to watch his tongue and desist  from making  unfounded comments on  Akwa Ibom  governorship election petition matter before the Tribunal.

In a press statement by the state Chairman of the PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo and made available to newsmen, the Party condemned the outlandish statements credited to Alhaji Mohammed [image above] in his press briefing in Abuja in which the APC spokesman faulted the recent solidarity visit to Akwa Ibom by the National leadership of the PDP over the DSS raid of the state’s Government house.

Obong Paul Ekpo berated the intrusion of Lai Mohammed into a matter he had no business in, as the visit of the PDP to one of the states under its control is well within the rights of the leaders and stakeholders of the party.

On the pending election dispute before the Tribunal, PDP warned Alhaji Lai Mohammed to refrain from making wild, unguarded statements and claims over a matter which is subjudice and which he knows little or nothing about, adding that apportioning blame or indicting the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] and its officials amounts to jumping the gun, and engaging in unnecessary media.

The PDP accordingly cautioned Alhaji Mohammed whose party recently denied some of its campaign promises to the people of Nigeria, to concentrate on helping his party to find a rhythm in its various leadership roles in the country.

Ekpo averred that, ” our people are still expecting the DSS to explain their mission to their seat of authority, and except Lai Mohammed wants to assume the role of the DSS spokesman, he should know when to mind his own business and stick to the role which his office permits him and desist from his rude intrusion into the affairs of Akwa Ibom State or the PDP.”

The party boss reiterated “that PDP is a tradition in the state and that was evident in her massive victory in the state during the last general elections.”

The PDP restated her implicit confidence in the integrity of the Tribunal to deliver a fair verdict and not yield to the subtle innuendoes, manipulations, propaganda and insinuations of the petitioners in the determination of the case.

“If there’s a party that has lost faith in the judiciary, it is the APC because it is inconceivable that the party would seek the help of the country’s secret service agency in a matter that was being adjudicated upon by the election petitions tribunal.”
