Former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar has lauded the immediate-past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, saying he saved Nigeria from a descent into political crisis.
Gen. Abubakar made the remarks during the one-day peace conference organised by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation in Abuja today.
The conference was entitled “Peaceful Elections and National Development”.
Speaking at the event, Abubakar noted that Jonathan kept to his words that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian.
He stated that for the sportsmanly attitude of President Jonathan, the country would have been plunged into crisis following the election which he lost to the then Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
