Abuja Court Upholds Tambuwal’s Election As Sokoto Governor
The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed Aminu Tambuwal’s election as the authentic governor of Sokoto State.
The court, in the process, dismissed the petition submitted by another member of the All Progressives Congress [APC], Umar Dahiru, for lack of merit.
The presiding judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole stated that he plaintiffs did not prove the alleged irregularities in the primaries.
Dahiru had contested the validity of Tambuwal’s election at election level and asked the court to set aside the APC primaries in the state.
He cited non-compliance of party rule in the said primaries as one of the grounds for his petition.
