Adamawa Correspondent chapel: Vote of no confidence on chairman

The Members of the Adamawa state chapter of correspondent chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) has on Sunday passed vote of no confidence on the leadership of Umar Dankano.

Umar who was elected unopposed three months ago to finish his two term tenure as the chairman of the chapel has been accused of breaking article 5 subsection 6 (a) and (b) of the constitution of the Nigeria Union of Journalist ,NUJ, which stipulates as follow:

 “In the case of chapels, 50 percent of members can call for a meeting and appoint any of their members to preside. Any disciplinary action taken against such a chairman shall be binding.”

The impeachment was in force because of the unruly behavior of the chairman who lacks competence and dereliction of duties.

A letter dated 11th October, 2015 and signed by the credentials committee chairman of the chapel, Comrade David Molomo said that the dissolved executive, headed by Umar Dankano, the secretary of the chapel, Yakubu Uba and Ibrahim Abdulaziz auditor of the chapel should hand over the properties of the chapel in their possession within 48 hours to the credentials committee.
