FCT Minister indicts Adamu Aliero  [pictured] over allocation of  246 hectares  of Army Land to eminent Nigerians ‎

Minister of Federal Capital Teritory (FCT) Mohammed Bello on Monday fingered former Minister of FCT, Adamu Aliero of illegally allocated land belonging to  Nigerian Army  to eminent Nigerians in the Maitama extension.‎

It was gathered that no fewer than 400 eminent Nigerians, including former presidents are owned  the controversial Maitama District Ex­tension in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) owned by the Nigeri­an Army.

However, The Minister who appeared before Senate Committee on FCT to shed light on the controversial  land explained that the land was allocated to Nigerian Army in 1996 but was reallocated by former Minister of FCT in 2009.

According to him, the area was actually earmarked fo‎r Nigerian Army and Guard Brigade in 1996. In 2009, 246 hectars or whereabout in 2009, plots allocation were made then(600) out of which CofO was issued to about 200 people worth N5.6 billion.

The Minister appealed to the Committee to give more time to resolve the crisis on the land.
