The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cleared all three presidential aspirants seeking its ticket ahead of the party’s presidential primary scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026.
Those cleared are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
The trio underwent screening earlier in the week as part of the party’s preparations for the primary election.
Confirming the development, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party had concluded the screening process and approved all three contenders to participate in the race.
Abdullahi also disclosed that the party cleared hundreds of aspirants contesting for other elective positions across the country.
According to him, 513 aspirants were cleared for the House of Representatives, 109 for the Senate, and 80 for governorship seats.
He reaffirmed that the ADC presidential primary will hold on Monday, May 25, as scheduled.
The development sets the stage for a three-way contest for the party’s presidential ticket, with Atiku, Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen expected to battle for the ADC flag ahead of the 2027 general election.
