The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned Nigerians to beware of fraudulent online links claiming to be the party’s official membership registration platform, stressing that it has not yet launched any such process.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, urged members of the public to disregard all circulating links purportedly inviting Nigerians to register as ADC members.
According to him, the party currently has no authorised online membership registration website or link in operation.
“ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link,” Abdullahi said.
He explained that the party is still working on an official registration and verification platform, which would be formally announced through verified ADC communication channels when ready.
The ADC spokesperson further warned that the party would never request payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial links, WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites.
Abdullahi also advised Nigerians to take precautions to avoid falling victim to scams, urging them not to click on suspicious or unverified links or share unconfirmed registration messages.
He cautioned against submitting personal information such as names, phone numbers, Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) details, Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), or payment details to any unverified platform.
The party encouraged the public to report any suspicious links or activities to the ADC through its official communication channels.
“All legitimate ADC announcements, including the launch of the official membership registration platform, will only be communicated through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party leadership,” Abdullahi said.
This is the second time in less than a year that the ADC has issued such a warning.
In July 2025, the party similarly disowned a fake list of state chairmen and cautioned Nigerians against unauthorised online registration platforms allegedly designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
