The former Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Hon Uche Onyeagocha has urged the African Democratic Congress ADC to field His Excellency Peter Obi as its presidential candidate in 2027 general elections.

He stated this while addressing newsmen after the maiden ADC meeting with all the members of Imo Coalition on Wednesday July 23rd 2025.

Hon Onyeagocha said it is better for ADC to field in their best candidates in the 2027 general elections so as to be able to win all the elections.

He noted that the position ADC today is bigger, stronger, and more efficient. and therefore appealled to all members of ADC to take advantage of the popularity of the party,

Onyeagocha urged them to build on the strength of the party field in the best candidates to contest elections so that they can win all the elections in 2027.

“But bear in mind that APC is plotting to rig the election, therefore your attitude to the election should be rig and die.

“Don’t wait to go to court. The court is already on the side of APC, you will not get justice. Let the matter be resolved at the polling booth.

“Let the matter be resolved at the polling agent’s table.

“Let it be resolved at the ward and at the local government area.

“Don’t allow the army to intimidate you.
Send your messages to the military personnel that since APC came, they have also been buying fuel at the same price as the rest of the citizens of this country.

“Send your message across to the police that you are buying rice at the same price as the ordinary citizens.

“You are travelling on all the bad roads as the rest of the ordinary citizens.

“The insecurity is also facing you like the ordinary citizens.

“Do not allow yourself to be used by your boss who would have been paid by APC to rig the election.

“If your boss is paid and he wants to use you to rig the election, do not agree.

“Tell your boss that you were overwhelmed by the masses and there was nothing you could do, so that the result will be properly written and the best candidates will emerge “, Onyeagocha stated.

The former house of reps member urged the leaders of the party not to walk out when the best presidential candidate emerges so that they will be able to drive away the ruling All progressives Congress out of power as to reduce insecurity and hunger in the country.

The State Chairman of ADC , Professor James Okoroma urged all the party members to remain calm as all matters within the party will be resolved amicably.

“We just finished the meeting. We decided to bring our people together to reassure those who are members of ADC that nothing will be taken away from them.

“They must develop the spirit of give and take. Brothers who are coming, are not coming to hijack the party.

” They are coming to collectively give the party support and help us win elections., party positions not withstanding”, Okoroma said.

The State Publicity Secretary of ADC, Dr Okoro Kingsley said the game of managing the ADC Coalition is give and take.

“In anything you are doing in life, and if you want to succeed, there are certain things you must sacrifice.

“And in the process of sacrificing, there are certain blessings we get.

“So if actually we want to manage the crisis coming up, the two parties; the ADC members, and the coalition and all the new people coming in, each and every one of us must sacrifice something to be able to achieve our aim.

He said they should not expect sacrifices to come only from one quarter adding that if the two parties will sacrifice something automatically there will be no crisis.

Okoro urged old ADC members to remain calm as nobody is coming to chase them, rather they have come to build the party and make it stronger.
