The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has expressed deep concern over the arrest of a pastor affiliated with the church, who resides overseas.

According to Pastor Adeboye, the pastor got arrested for saying “ladies and gentlemen” to welcome people at a program.

He said the greeting was considered discriminatory for not including all gender identities.

As reported by the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), Adeboye shared the news during the RCCG’s thanksgiving service at the Throne of Grace in Lagos on Sunday.

Adeboye’s sermon, broadcast to all RCCG parishes, was titled “My Father’s House.”

“The end is closer than you think. Things are getting worse, and this is a major wake-up call. One of my pastors overseas was actually arrested for just saying “ladies and gentlemen” to a crowd.

Adeboye said the pastor was reported for discrimination because he only greeted “ladies and gentlemen,” excluding other identities.

He also told a disturbing story about a woman who called her dog her husband.

The pastor elaborated on the incident, explaining that when the woman was asked about her spouse, she responded by saying, “I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk.”

He expressed worry about the world’s moral values disappearing, saying these incidents are signs that the end times are near.

Pastor Adeboye told Christians to take their faith seriously and not let anyone weaken their commitment.

He reminded those who are just going through the motions that Jesus is coming back and the devil is trying to lead them astray.

Adeboye, who often speaks out on national issues and church matters, recently criticized men with braids and women with fake eyelashes and lots of makeup.

He made it clear that he’s not okay with the trendy styles some church workers are rocking, and said they’re no longer welcome on RCCG altars.
