Inter Milan are reportedly set to make a final €50 million offer for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman in a bid to secure his transfer from Atalanta before the end of the summer window.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the 27-year-old Nigerian international has become Inter’s top attacking target after the club’s previous bids were rejected by Atalanta, who remain firm on their valuation of the player.

Lookman, currently under contract with Atalanta until 2027, is said to be eager to join the UEFA Champions League finalists.

He reportedly submitted a formal transfer request and skipped training in protest over what he described as broken promises by the club’s management.

The player also went public with his grievances on social media, accusing Atalanta of mistreatment and failure to honour prior agreements.

Sources from Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews reveal that Inter Milan will now match Atalanta’s €50 million asking price and include performance-based bonuses as part of the new deal.

The move would represent Inter’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, as they look to reinforce their squad after narrowly missing out on the Champions League title.

Atalanta, however, are reluctant to sell Lookman to a domestic rival, despite the player’s insistence on leaving.

Officials at the Bergamo-based club argue that any prior gentleman’s agreement only applied to offers from clubs outside Italy.

Selling Lookman to a fellow Serie A title contender, they say, would weaken Atalanta’s own competitive strength.

Lookman’s situation has now become increasingly tense, with his absence from training and public outcry putting pressure on Atalanta’s hierarchy.

There are also concerns within the club that forcing Lookman to stay could harm team morale and reduce his transfer value in the near future.

Inter Milan remains optimistic about completing the deal in the coming days, believing the inclusion of bonuses and the player’s strong desire to move will eventually sway Atalanta’s stance.

Lookman, who enjoyed an impressive season with Atalanta, scoring crucial goals in both Serie A and European competitions, sees Inter as a step forward in his career.

With only a few weeks left in the transfer window, all eyes are nowon Atalanta’s final decision.
