AFCON 2019 Qualifier: Nigeria Thrashes Seychelles

The Super Eagles if Nigeria have thrashed their Seychelles counterparts 3-0 during the AFCON 2019 qualifying match played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Odion Ighalo gave Nigeria the needed 1-0 lead after Wilfred Ndidi was fouled in the box for the penalty.

It was a huge relief for the hosts as the stubborn resolve of the visitors was finally broken more than 30 minutes into the game.

The shocker came shortly afterwards when the visitors drew level after a mix up in the Nigerian defense.

It was 1-1 when the half time ended.

Henry Onyekuru restored the lead through a header with Jamilu Collins’ assist.

Newcomer, Moses Simon grabbed the winner for the Eagles after making s final substitution for Ighalo.

Simon extended the lead with smooth finish inside the box with yet another assist from Jamilu Collins.

The Super Eagles ended the qualifying campaign with a decent win.

The Eagles qualified for the championship coming up in Gabon with two matches to spare.
