African female lovers, Uju Anya and Sirry Alang, set to wed in the US

United States based female Professor of Linguistics, Uju Anya, over the weekend had her lesbian partner Dr Sirry Alang proposed to her.

In a terse statement on Instagram, Dr Anya said, “My darling love, Dr Sirry Alang asked me to be her wife and I said yes.”

Both had been married to male partners in previous years and had children but later divorced.

Dr Sirry Alang is of Cameroonian descent and holds a Ph.D in Health Policy and Management from the University of Minnesota.

Dr Uju Anya is of Nigerian descent.

Same-sex marriage was legalized in the State of Minnesota, where the duo live, on August 1, 2013.
