As anticipation builds ahead of the formal stakeholders meeting and presentation of his administration’s 2025 scorecard, the Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 Movement has lauded Governor Hope Uzodinma’s infrastructural strides as a benchmark for strategic governance in Imo State.

Led by its convener, Capt. Bishop C. Johnson (U.S. Army, rtd.), the movement described the ongoing infrastructure revolution—spanning urban renewal, intercity connectivity, and rural access—not just as a legacy project, but as a transformative foundation for equitable development, economic revival, and future governance continuity.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as Governor Uzodinma presents his scorecard to the people of Imo State, we join numerous stakeholders in expressing deep appreciation to His Excellency for his unwavering commitment to infrastructure development—particularly in road construction and rehabilitation.

Despite the headwinds of dwindling national revenue, growing governance complexities, and rising public demands, Governor Uzodinma has chosen to invest in long-term assets: roads that empower economies, connect communities, and stimulate opportunity. From the Owerri–Umuahia Road, Owerri–Okigwe Road, to the Owerri–Orlu–Ideato corridor, his administration’s commitment to linking Imo’s urban and rural divides is evident.

These roads are not just infrastructure—they are the arteries of commerce, education, healthcare, and unity.

They connect farmers to markets, students to schools, and families to opportunity. This is strategic governance in action.

As Convener of the Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 Movement, I applaud these strides, even as I urge the Governor to extend this momentum to underrepresented areas like the Ejemekwuru–Agwa–Obokofia Road linking Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema LGAs, and the Avu–Obosima–Adapalm–Etekwuru corridor connecting Owerri West to Ohaji/Egbema.

These routes remain vital for inclusive growth.

While BBO 2027 advocates for leadership equity and continuity come 2027, we also recognize and celebrate excellence in the present.

Indeed, we see Governor Uzodinma’s infrastructural legacy as paving the road—literally and figuratively—for a future of sustained progress.

Governance is a relay, not a sprint. What matters is that the baton is passed to leaders who are competent, tested, and visionary.

That is why we believe Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, whose first tenure (2007–2011) similarly emphasized infrastructure and economic development, represents a continuation—not a disruption—of the progress we now witness.

The people of Imo deserve continuity of vision, not experiments.

And BBO 2027 remains committed to mobilizing for leadership that can consolidate these gains.

As Imo State approaches a new political horizon, we call on all stakeholders—elders, youths, women, clergy, and traditional institutions—to remember that development is not an event but a process.

Let us support good governance today, so we may secure a brighter tomorrow.
