The Wife of Nigeria’s President, Aisha Buhari has reacted to the Peoples Democratic Party that she is not involved in foreign exchange dealings and could not have been a beneficiary of an alleged $22million allocation from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The PDP on its Twitter posts yesterday had alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari, his aides and wife as beneficiaries of dollar allocations from the Godwin Emefiele’s CBN, even alleging that they got the dollars below the official exchange rate of N197.

Aisha’s company was accused of collecting $22million at the rate of N185 and then selling it off at N362 same day.

In the last of the accusations, the party claimed that in 7 months, President Buhari has withdrawn $23m forex from CBN for foreign travel expenses and estacode.

In a series of tweets the president’s wife stated:

“Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari is not a dealer of forex. She has not and will never be involved in any illegal dealings.

“Making false and unfounded allegations without proof just to incite Nigerians on social media is wrong.

“This is grounds for a lawsuit on defamation of character.

“Be advised, any further attempt to malign the person of the Wife of the President will be dealt with according to the law”. @aishambuhari
