Residents of Bulemi, located within the Weija Gbawe, have expressed shock following reports of an alleged case involving a family of three said to be engaging in highly unconventional and concerning domestic practices.

According to multiple unverified accounts circulating online, the family comprising a mother and her two children has reportedly been living in an unfinished building in the area for several years. The situation gained public attention after claims surfaced describing unusual behaviors within the household.

The mother is alleged to use human waste, including urine and faeces, in daily activities such as meal preparation. Reports further claim that these substances are also being used for purposes such as body care and water treatment, based on her personal beliefs about their supposed benefits.

These allegations have left members of the community alarmed, particularly over the potential health risks and the wellbeing of the children involved. Neighbours reportedly say the family had lived in relative isolation, with their lifestyle going largely unnoticed until recently.

Additional claims suggest that the children’s father may have left the household following the onset of the woman’s alleged behavior, leaving her solely responsible for their care. However, these details have not been independently confirmed.

Local leaders and concerned residents are said to be calling for urgent intervention from relevant authorities, emphasizing the need for a welfare assessment and appropriate medical or social support if necessary.

Public reaction to the story has been intense, with many questioning whether the situation may be linked to underlying health or psychological issues, cultural beliefs, or misinformation. As of now, there has been no official statement from authorities in Accra regarding the incident.

Health professionals generally warn that exposure to human waste can pose serious risks, including the spread of infectious diseases, reinforcing the importance of proper hygiene and safe food practices.
