Alleged N5 billion theft: Okorocha’s in-law threatens publishers

The publisher and editors of Community Watchdog Newspapers have petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase over alleged threat to their lives by one Uche Nwosu.

In the petition signed by the editor, Sir (Chief) Bonny Ajuogu, the complainants alleged that Mr. Uche Nwosu, a personal in-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha [pictured above], and his Chief of Staff and other beneficiaries and other hangers-on have made several phone calls threatening their lives.

According to Chief Ajuogu, the “threat is coming closely on the heels of the publications of allegations of the alleged stealing of the sum of N5 Billion allegedly from the N26.8Billion Bailout funds approved and released to Imo State, by the cook attached to Uche Nwosu.”

It could be recalled that Uche Nwosu was the former Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning in Imo State under Governor Okorocha.

I write with deep sense of responsibility and humility to alerts you of the imminent threat to the lives of the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Community Watchdog Newspapers, Comrade Precious Nwadike and other members of the Editorial Board by Uche Nwosu and cohorts.

This threat is coming closely on the heels of the publications of allegations of the alleged stealing of the sum of N5 Billion allegedly from the N26.8Billion Bailout funds approved and released to Imo State, by the cook attached to Uche Nwosu.

This alarm has become necessary and imminent following several phone calls by the aforementioned officials and their beneficiaries and other hangers-on.

Sir, should anything untoward happen to the publisher, editorial team or any member of their families, the persons to hold responsible and liable, are the above mentioned suspects.
