Amb. Obiozor elected President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Ambassador George Obiozor has been elected as the new President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo nation.

How they voted:

Abia delegates voted in favour of Professor Obiozor with 47 votes. No vote for his opponent, Chief Valentine Oparaocha.

Anambra State delegates voted in favour of Professor George with 41 votes. Chief Oparaocha, one vote.

Delta State delegates voted in favour of Professor Obiozor with 17 votes. Chief Oparaocha, one vote.

Ebonyi State delegates voted in favour of Professor Obiozor with 53 votes. Chief Oparaocha, zero vote.

Enugu State delegates voted in favour of Professor George with 40 votes. Chief Oparaocha, one vote.

Imo State delegates voted in favour of Professor George with 42 votes. Chief Oparaocha, zero vote.

Rivers State delegates voted in favour of Professor George with 21 votes. Chief Oparaocha, zero vote.

Ohanaeze affiliate associations delegates and Ohanaeze diaspora delegates voted in favour of Professor Obiozor with 43 votes. Chief Oparaocha, 12 votes.

The total result of votes for the election of President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is as follows: Oparaocha 15 votes, Obiozor: 304 votes.
