This nomination confirms the growing global acceptance of Afrobeats and African talent.

The award for Favourite Afrobeats Artist was first introduced in 2022.

Wizkid made history as the first-ever winner of the category during its debut.

Award-winning singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez, will host the 2025 ceremony.

This marks her return to the AMAs stage after nearly a decade, her last being in 2015.

Lopez is also scheduled to perform at the high-profile ceremony.

Her presence is expected to attract even more viewers from across the globe.

Another major highlight is Kendrick Lamar leading the nominations list this year.

He secured 10 nominations, the most for any artist in the 2025 edition.

Lamar is nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
