Anambra 2021: Group warns Obiano, APGA against imposing Soludo

A group under the umbrella of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Afa Igbo Bu Ofu has warned the party and the governor of Anambra State, Mr. William Obiano against imposition of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as the party’s candidate in the November 6, 2021, Anambra State governorship election.

Afa Igbo Bu Ofu made their position during its one year Anniversary event which was held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, on Saturday.

The group insisted on free and fair primaries, saying it is the only way to unite the party and ensure that the party does not fall into the temptation of allowing any form of imposition at the party primaries.

Our media ally, Mr. Eneh Victor Chigozie, who covered the event, noted that the declaration was an affront against the “Aguleri Cabal” who has allegedly been plotting to impose Prof. Soludo as the party’s candidate for the election.

Mr. Eneh recalled that Afa Igbo Bu Ofu was clearly ordered by the Aguleri Cabal to stop visiting any other APGA aspirant except Prof Soludo or get disbanded and chased out of APGA.

However, in a daring move, the group held its one year anniversary and used the occasion to invite all the APGA governorship aspirants except Prof Soludo to the event.

Hon Chuma Umeoji, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, Ewepudike, Nicholas Ukachukwu, Dr Okwudili Ezenwankwo and a host of other APGA aspirants were either present or represented at the event.

They were duly recognised as APGA governorship aspirants despite the pending order by the cabal that the group should not deal with any other aspirant.

According to Eneh, the climax of the event was the speech by the leader of the group, Hon Acobarry Chukwuma in which he encouraged all the aspirants in the party to continue their campaigns, insisting that APGA will conduct a free and fair primaries.

He told the aspirants that AfaIgboBuOfu, unlike other affiliate groups in APGA, has not endorsed anyone and will not do so until the party primaries are over.

According to him, “the only way to unite the party is to ensure that the party does not fall into the temptation of allowing any form of imposition at the party primaries.”

AfaIgboBuOfu is the only APGA affiliate political group that opposes the suffocating attitude of U-AYA in APGA.

Most of the aspirants present at the occasion used the occasion to ensure APGA members of their resolve to see to the end of the party primaries and assured that they will pick the party ticket.
