The Obidient Movement has lambasted Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State over false claims that the movement has endorsed him for a second tenure.
This was contained in a press release issued on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Awka, the state capital, made available to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM).
The movement reaffirmed its support for the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, telling Governor Soludo that no endorsement would help his re-election bid.

In the statement signed by the National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the Movement described the claim as fraudulent and grossly misleading, for the following reasons:
1. No Official Endorsement
Dr. Tanko stated: *The Obidient Movement states unequivocally that it has not authorized, endorsed, or supported any candidate other than Mr. George Moghalu, who was earlier endorsed by His Excellency Peter Obi for the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
“Any statements or representations suggesting otherwise are false and should be disregarded by the public.”

2. Independence from Political Parties
Tanko noted that the Movement remains non-partisan and independent, guided solely by its mission to promote integrity, accountability, and people-centered leadership across Nigeria.
“Its support for Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election was based on his proven track record and commitment to national transformation.
“Therefore, any individual or faction claiming to endorse other candidates does so in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the Obidient Movement,” he stressed.
3. Unauthorized Use of the Obidient Identity
The Movement strongly condemned the misuse of its name, logo, or identity to advance personal or political interests.
Any assertion that the Obidient Movement has endorsed Governor Soludo or any other candidate outside its declared stance is a blatant misrepresentation.
The Obidient Movement does not participate in transactional politics or quid pro quo arrangements, and it firmly rejects any attempt to exploit its goodwill for selfish or partisan ends.

4. Future Political Engagements
Tanko said that the Movement remains resolutely focused on promoting competent and ethical leadership across Nigeria.
It warned that all future political decisions, including discussions on the 2027 presidential election, will be made collectively and communicated through official channels only.
“Speculative narratives regarding the Movement’s political direction are therefore premature and baseless,” he emphasised.
5. Call for Clarity and Accountability
The Obidient Movement, therefore, called on the media, general public, and political stakeholders to disregard any false claims linking it with the endorsement of Soludo or any candidate other than Moghalu.
It reaffirmed its commitment to building a Nigeria where leadership is anchored on competence, character, and the common good.
The Movement assured Nigerians that it will continue to engage constructively across all divides, upholding its core values of independence, integrity, and transparency.
