*Says Appeal Court judgement has rendered Umeh’s former nomination invalid *Victor Umeh defects to YDP?

While Chief Victor Umeh and his camp were busy celebrating the judgement, their party is busy searching for Umeh’s replacement, citing Court judgement that called for “FRESH” election also nullified Umeh’s former nomination.

Chief Chekwas Okorie, the founding National Chairman of APGA

That the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu on 7th of December 2015 nullified Anambra Central Senatorial zone election that produced Uche Ekwunife as the Senator representing Anambra Central and call for FRESH Election within 90 days in no news.

What the issue is today is that while Chief Victor Umeh and his camp were busy celebrating the judgement, their party (APGA) is busy searching for Umeh’s replacement citing Court judgement that called for “FRESH” election also nullified Umeh’s former nomination.

The judgement of the Appeal Court that nullified the election goes this way:

“That the 1st Respondent herein Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is hereby ordered to conduct a fresh election into Anambra Central senatorial District within 90 days from today” .

A source closed to Victor Oye-led APGA insisted that their party is yet to have a candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial election.

When reminded of Victor Umeh , the source that don’t want his name to appear in this report insisted that Chief Victor Umeh’s candidacy died on the altar of Appeal Court Judgement which called for Fresh election and NOT re-run.

The source went on to add:

” had it been that the court called for re-run , it would have been different thing which ought not have any effect on Victor Umeh’s candidacy .But with the Word “Fresh election” , Umeh must submit self to fresh APGA primary which the party will conduct soon”.

The issue now is that Oye is heading to replace Umeh who many see as a “bad” product.

Feeler from Umeh’s camp insist that Chief Victor Oye (APGA National Chairman) is a puppet and ceremonial Chairman who they say lacks courage to change Umeh .

As of the time of writing this , all the camps in APGA internal war are scheming even as Maxi Okwu led faction await Supreme Court judgement on who is the authentic National Chairman on 15th January 2016 to determine how they coming into the crisis as Anambra Central await Fresh election in line with Appeal Court Judgement.

This writer also heard from another source closed to Umeh that Chief Victor Umeh is heading for Youth Democratic Party (YDP) should APGA deny him ticket for INEC-organised fresh election .

Meanwhile, a political expert on APGA crisis insist that Chekwas Okorie (the founding National Chairman of APGA) Cursed APGA when he said:  “this party I suffered to found and you people pushed me out of it, will have no peace …”

APGA has continued to move from one crisis to the other since Chekwas left.
