Anambra Central: Ngige did not endorse Victor Umeh – APC
Once again, Ngige has not endorsed Chief Umeh and has no plans to endorse any candidate outside APC for Anambra Central Senatorial seat.
Our Attention has been drawn to an old picture pasted online taken together by Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, Minister of Labour & Employment, whose candidature of the Anambra Central senatorial seat for APC still subsists, with Victor Umeh [above] and one other person.
The picture, taken two years ago, during the sitting of the Anambra State Gubernatorial Elections petitions Tribunal in Awka, was pasted online by one Tochukwu Nweke in the APGA interactive Forum-on facebook, among others.
Below the photograph the poster put the following words:
‘”I am comfortable with my position as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Victor Umeh, I wish you well. You are the best man for the job. Ndigbo need a strong voice in the SENATE.’ suggesting that these words were expressed by Senator Ngige’.
Fa fa fa fa fa faaaaaaaaa…..foul!
The General Public is hereby assured that these words were not spoken by Senator Ngige who is a candidate and state leader of a formidable party with profound interest in the evolving composition of the Senate.
It should be understood as the handiwork of those who do not feel they have a marketable candidate, but rather spend valuable campaign time putting words into the mouths of opponents they consider formidable against their dreamy interests or rewriting court judgments to eliminate others from the race.
We has at 12 Noon yesterday December 28, 2015 given the poster two (2) hours to remove the offensive comments and photographs from all media where same have been posted and apologize in all such media correspondingly, or we would take appropriate steps to get him to answer to charges on criminal libel.
We stand by this position.
Our online Bureau reports that the pictures and comments have been removed in some fora but no apology has been rendered as yet.
We advise that it should be promptly removed in all and extend the deadline to 12 Noon of tomorrow, December 30, 2015, with unconditional apologies from Tochukwu Nweke, harbinger of the poisonous information.
The General Public is by this statement warned to be mindful of the avalanche of lies spinning from the same source, and be wary of being misled.
We sincerely advise Chief Victor Umeh of APGA to rise and take control of his campaign, regarding statements being issued out in his name about interested parties in the election, and those made directly by him, which to all intents and purposes, registers that Umeh is petrified on the kind for election that awaits him.
We wish Umeh well in his up-hill task and trust that, in the spirit of a fair contest, we would not have to issue any other statement of this nature in the duration of this supplementary campaign, until APC is returned to the Senate to represent Anambra Central Senatorial District
Once again, Ngige has not endorsed Chief Umeh and has no plans to endorse any candidate outside APC for Anambra Central Senatorial seat.
He has plans to provide leadership leading to an APC representation for the district, where between June 2011 and June 2015, he sponsored 12 bills, 30 motions, touched every community with constituency projects, served effectively in seven Senate Committees and excelled in oversight functions in the Seventh Senate, leading to remarkable feats including the recovery of stolen 22 badges for Independent Electricity Power Projects, as Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Power.
Ngige sends his season’s greetings to all, even as he is preoccupied with the upcoming burial ceremonies of his deceased father.
