A celebration of 65 Revolutions around the orbit of time

Every generation has its visionaries. Every nation has its pathfinders. Every society has its catalysts. They, visionaries, pathfinders, and catalysts, are leaders who possess profound ideas and nous to make change and progress possible.

Three years ago, Anambra State found its own change-maker in Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and has not remained the same.

Today, as Governor Soludo marks 65 revolutions around the orbit of time, Anambra State can also celebrate the dawn of a new, paradigmatic era.

With well-grounded ideas, policies, strategies and actions, Governor Soludo has been meticulously laying the foundations of a future Anambra megacity, echoing the Asian leadership icon that reshaped a nation across a generation: Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew.

Like LKY, who gazed beyond Singapore’s colonial port status to envision a gleaming global powerhouse, Governor Soludo sees Anambra not just as it is, but as the prosperous, liveable, and modern hub it must become.

His leadership is defined by that same audacious, foundational vision, a refusal to settle for incremental change when systemic transformation is possible.

It is quite instructive that Governor Soludo’s blueprint mirrors LKY’s core tenets. He is building robust institutions that empower individuals.

He champions clean governance and accountable systems, understanding that sustainable development requires dynamic institutions resistant to decay. Every policy push targets systemic strength, not fleeting populism.

The Governor is also a compulsive catalyst whose administration, recognising that progress thrives in stability, emphasises the rule of law, law enforcement, and public order.

This is the essential premise for investment, security, and societal dignity, the very order LKY knew was non-negotiable for Singapore’s rise.

Just as LKY bet on Singapore’s human capital and infrastructure, Governor Soludo is relentlessly building on the same structure.

From ambitious road networks and urban renewal to massive investments in education, healthcare, digital economy and youth skills development, he.is planting seeds for a diversified, resilient, knowledge-driven economy.

The “Everything Technology” philosophy also leverages a roadmap to relevance in the 21st century.

Eschewing short-term political wins, Governor Soludo further exhibits the courageous discipline visionaries like LKY exemplified.

Tough decisions on urban planning, environmental preservation (Clean, Green, Sustainable Anambra), and fiscal prudence are made with an unblinking eye on the horizon: the Anambra of 2030, 2050, 2070 and beyond.

Indeed, the parallels are profound. LKY transformed a resource-poor island into a global marvel through innovative planning, incorruptible efficiency, and an uncompromising belief in his nation’s potential.

Governor Soludo, inheriting a state brimming with innate entrepreneurial spirit but hampered by infrastructural and systemic gaps, is charting a strikingly similar progressive course.

He is the architect Anambra needs: building not just roads and bridges, but strong institutions, a culture of excellence, and a framework for enduring prosperity.

Thus his 65th birthday goes beyond a personal milestone. It is a marker on Anambra’s journey towards its destiny.

The transformation is nascent, the challenges are real, but the foundations Governor Soludo is laying today, with LKY-like clarity and resolve, promise a legacy as enduring as Singapore’s fame.

Anambra is rising, and Governor Soludo’s vision is the state’s greatest birthday gift which deserves continuity beyond the November election.

Happy birthday, Sir, Mr Governor!
