Anka, Zamfara State – April 10, 2025 – Grateful residents of Anka have praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Defence Minister Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa after troops eliminated notorious terrorist leader Mati and his fighters.
The community, represented by Chairman Muhammed Usman Anka, specifically commended Dr. Matawalle for his crucial support in the operation, which marks a major victory in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity.
Dubbed “Operation Munzo”, the mission began in Bagega, with troops advancing through Tibuki and Sabuwar Tunga before raiding Mati’s stronghold.
After a fierce battle, security forces neutralized the terrorist commander, who was responsible for numerous kidnappings and attacks.
Additionally, they recovered a large arsenal, including AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and communication devices, while destroying stolen motorcycles and uniforms.
Dr. Matawalle praised the military’s bravery, stating that the operation aligns with President Tinubu’s directive to crush terrorism.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, assuring them that terrorists’ days are numbered.
Meanwhile, troops continue combing nearby forests to root out remaining insurgents, reinforcing the government’s commitment to lasting peace.
Relieved residents now look forward to a safer future, hopeful that such victories will end years of fear.
With sustained efforts, Zamfara and neighboring states may soon see lasting stability, proving that decisive action can restore security.
