Another Nigerian makes history in United States’ politics

Mr. Charles Onyejiaka was voted as the Councilman of the 3rd ward of Franklin Township, New Jersey to replace the seat vacated by the new Mayor, Dr. Phil Kramer.

History was again made in the state of New Jersey, when Franklin Township Municipal Council unanimously voted and confirmed an Igboman, Mr. Charles Onyejiaka as the Councilman of the 3rd ward of Franklin Township, New Jersey.

Mr. Onyejiaka was nominated with two persons by the Franklin Township Democratic Party to replace the seat vacated by the new Mayor, Dr. Phil Kramer.

Immediately after the Council voted in favor of Mr. Onyejiaka, he was sworn in to serve out Dr. Kramer’s remaining term which ends in December 31, 2016. Mr. Onyejiaka will run to retain the seat in November, 2016 elections.

Mayor Kramer is the white guy, Councilman Onyejiaka is the guy in white traditional Nigerian outfit.

First African-born Deputy Mayor of Newark, NJ, Hon. Ugochukwu Nwaokoro, was there to witness another milestone for the continent.
